What is No Peeking Theater?
No Peeking Theater was Founded in Jersey City, Just outside Manhattan by Amanda Levie and has been operating since 2012.
To Create a New way of going to the theater Ms. Leve removed one crucial element.
SIGHT
When one of your senses is removed the others are heightened. Audience members are blindfolded and introduced to other sensory elements such as sound, sense, tase and touch.The theater wanted to change the way we experience live performance
ACCESIBILITY
There are many benefits to the way in which shows are preformed at the theater for example a big element is accessibility those who do not have the gift of sight are able to experience it the same way as those who do. The theater is ADA accessible.
SUSTAINABLITY
The theater is also sustainable. Shows do not need costumers are elaborate states and lighting or any other things that end up being waster afterwards. Our average run of show is 15-20% less than average theater shows.
It is a priority for No Peeking to be diverse in its casting. Headshots are not required in auditions the only thing important to the theater is that the actor or actress embodies the character.
